Before cutting

Use the actual 95% dipstick value from the tank chart. Do not calculate it as 95% of the 100% reading.
Confirm measurements and model against the current manufacturer installation manual.
The valve body must extend at least 6½" into the tank. Minimum total length is 16" for non-testable or 14½" for testable models.
Account for tank tilt, manways, local requirements, and the correct sealing surface.
